Itinerary
Day 1, Monday - New York
Evening departure to Moscow.
Day 2, Tuesday - Moscow
Arrival in Moscow.
The fascinating Russian capital- meet your tour escort. In the afternoon enjoy an orientation tour of the city.
Overnight in Moscow for the next five nights.
Day 3, Wednesday - Moscow
The tour of Moscow will take you to the center of this more than 800-year-old city: The Red Square with Lenin’s Mausoleum, the inside of the Kremlin, the symbol of Russia’s greatness, where you can admire the medieval towers and palaces. At the Armory Museum you can see the imperial treasures. The tour will also include a visit to the WWII Museum, the City Memorial Park, and it’s New Synagogue.
Day 4, Thursday - Moscow
Morning visit of the Tretyakov Art Gallery, a collection of one hundred thousand exhibits. Afternoon at leisure for further visits or take a stroll on pedestrian only Arbat Street.
Day 5, Friday - Moscow
Today visit the Moscow Choral Synagogue, which opened in 1891 -on the eve of the expulsion of the Jews from the city. Then take a tour of the Metro - its stations decorated with marble mosaics and bronze sculptures looks like a vast art museum.
Evening services followed by Shabbat dinner.
Day 6, Shabbat - Moscow
Following Shabbat services and lunch, enjoy a walking tour of the area.
Day 7, Sunday - St. Petersburg
Transfer to Moscow Airport for a flight to St. Petersburg - the city founded by Peter the Great. A sightseeing tour will take you along the streets and embankments, where every building is a work of art. Visit the Choral Synagogue and Peter and Paul Fortress, the oldest monument of history and architecture in St. Petersburg.
Overnight in St. Petersburg for the next four nights.
Day 8, Monday - St. Petersburg
Today the tour will take you to the two royal summer residences: Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo) where you will visit the 18th century Catherine’s Palace and its park. On to Pavlovsk where you will visit the residence of Pauli’s family.
Day 9, Tuesday - St. Petersburg
This morning take a tour through the numerous halls of the famous Hermitage Museum, one of the best art collections in the world.
In the afternoon enjoy a boat ride on the Neva River.
Day 10, Wednesday - St. Petersburg
Morning drive to Peterhof (Petrodvorets), the spectacular summer residence of the tsars on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, reminiscent of Versailles. Visit the Grand Palace and the park with its numerous fountains.
Return to St. Petersburg by hydrofoil.
Afternoon at leisure for shopping or further visits.
Day 11, Thursday - New York
Transfer to the airport for your flight home
