Itinerary
Day 1, Sunday
Leave New York for Morocco.
Day 2, Monday - Casablanca, Rabat
Arrival in Casablanca.
We continue for a short drive north along the coast to the capital city of Morocco, Rabat. Phoenicians exploring the North African Coast founded this city. Rabat is located on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, a city of trees and flowers and combines peace, beauty and serenity.
Day 3, Tuesday - Rabat, Meknes, Fez
Visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah of the Oudayas- the historic center of town, which dates back to the 11th century. Continue to the Imperial City of Meknes, the 17th century capital of Morocco during the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail. Visit the enormous Imperial Palace and the Jewish Quarters.
Proceed to Volubilis to see the spectacular ruins of this old Roman City spread over 100 acres. Evening arrival to the Imperial City of Fez, one of the oldest and more beautiful cities in North Africa founded in the 8th century.
Day 4, Wednesday - Fez
In Fez, Moses Ben Maimon - at the time only a young scholar - began his commentaries on the Mishna. Rabbi Amran, born in Hebron, settled in Fez at the end of the 18th century. See the palace, the narrow streets of the city, the old Jewish Cemetery and the Jewish Quarters.
Afternoon at leisure to visit the shops, local bazaars and the famous Souk, one of the world’s largest and most intriguing in Morocco.
Day 5, Thursday - Fez, Beni Mellal, Marrakesh
Leave Fez for Ifrane, a beautiful nature reserve and vacation place in the Atlas Mountains. See the famous Hotel where the King entertains his guests.
Continue through Beni-Mellal to Marrakesh.
Day 6, Friday - Marrakesh
Morning trip to the Ourika Valley in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and it’s many villages. Return tour of the old and new city. See the famous Dejmaa el Fna square, one of the liveliest places on earth famous for it’s snake charmers, dancers, acrobats and sellers of all kinds. Continue to the Koutoubia Mosque, the most famous building in North Africa, the Royal Palace and the Jewish quarters.
Evening services followed by Shabbat dinner.
Day 7, Shabbat - Marrakesh
After morning services and Shabbat lunch enjoy a walking tour of the city.
Day 8, Sunday - Marrakesh, Agadir
Depart Marrakesh for the most renowned year-round beach resort in the south of Morocco, Agadir.
Overnight in the area.
Day 9, Monday - Agadir
Morning tour of the city and the former Kasbah.
Afternoon at leisure to enjoy this lovely city.
Day 10, Tuesday - Essaouira, Safi
Depart for Essaouira, the old Portuguese Port with it’s busy fishing harbor and fortified sea walls. Continue along the coast to Safi for our overnight stay.
Day 11, Wednesday - Casablanca
Morning departure for Casablanca. Afternoon city tour through the Medina, the central market, the Hibbous Sector, the Royal Palace and more.
Day 12, Thursday - New York
Transfer to the airport for your flight to New York.
