Itinerary
Day 1, Sunday - New York
Evening departure for Rome.
Day 2, Monday - Rome
Arrival in Rome.
Transfer to your hotel where you will meet your tour escort.
Overnight in Rome for the next three nights.
Day 3, Tuesday - Rome, Tivoli
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing, which will include: the Pantheon, Capitoline Hill, Piazza Venezia, memorial to King Victor Emanuel II, and Trevi Fountain. View the Arch of Titus, the Forum Romanum and The Colosseum. Visit the imposing Great Synagogue and the Jewish Museum to learn about Roman Jewry and explore “Trastevere”, once Rome’s ghetto.
In the afternoon visit the beautiful Gardens of Tivoli.
Day 4, Wednesday - Rome
Day at leisure for shopping or further visits.
Day 5, Thursday - Sienna, Florence
Early morning departure from Rome. Drive to the gorgeous city of Sienna, with it’s magnificent 13th century Piazza Del Campo. Visit the famous Academy of Fine Arts to see the statue of David. Overnight in Florence for the next three nights.
Day 6, Friday - Florence
The morning city tour begins at Piazza Michelangelo for a splendid view of the city. Tour the Baptistery with its famous bronze doors and the Piazza della Signoria, once the ancient ghetto. Visit Florence’s magnificent synagogue, one of the most beautiful in Europe, a structure over 100 years old. Afterwards we will visit the treasures in the Uffizi Gallery.
Evening services followed by Shabbat dinner.
Day 7, Shabbat - Florence
Following Shabbat services and lunch enjoy a walking tour of the area.
Day 8, Sunday - Florence, Pisa, Venice
Depart Florence for Pisa. See the famous Leaning Tower. Continue on to Venice, a magical city of islands and lagoons.
Overnight in Venice for the next two nights.
Day 9, Monday - Venice
A full day in the captivating city of Venice, where ancient canals replace streets. A leisurely walking tour from San Marco’s Square with its Byzantine cathedral will take you past the Doge’s Palace and the legendary Bridge of Sighs - and will bring you to the original ghetto neighborhood where you will visit the ghetto synagogues.
Day 10, Tuesday - Verona, Sirmione, Milan
Depart Venice via motor coach for Verona, a city known for its Roman, medieval, and renaissance buildings. It was also immortalized in two of Shakespeare’s dramas, the Two Gentlemen of Verona and Romeo and Juliet.
Continue your journey through the lake area of Sirmione to Milan, where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
Overnight in Milan for the next two nights.
Day 11, Wednesday - Lake District
A full day of touring in small villages, near lakes, and majestic mountains. Enjoy a relaxing cruise from Stresa (a well-known resort) on Lago Maggiore to Isola Bela, where you will visit the Palazzo Borromeo and gardens, and Isola Madre.
Return to Milan.
Day 12, Thursday - New York
Transfer to the Airport for your flight home.
