Itinerary
Day 1, Sunday - New York
Evening departure for Barcelona.
Day 2, Monday - Barcelona
Arrive in Barcelona where you will meet your tour leader. Touring today will include the City Hall, Las Ramblas, Gaudi Buildings, and Montjuic- the Old Jewish Quarter from the Ramban period and more.
Leisure time for further visits or shopping.
Overnight in Barcelona for the next two nights.
Day 3, Tuesday - Barcelona, Girona
Full day tour of the famous old Jewish town of Girona,
visiting the old Banos Arabes, the Archeological Museum and the Jewish Museum. Continue to Besalu to see the site of an old mikvah, before returning to Barcelona to visit the Picasso Museum.
Day 4, Wednesday - Barcelona, Granada
Transfer to the airport for a flight to Granada were you will visit the Alhambra, Spain’s most famous castle, built by the Moors, and the beautiful and exotic Generalife Gardens.
Overnight in Granada.
Day 5 , Thursday - Cordoba
Drive to Cordoba, the birthplace of Maimonides. Sightseeing includes the mosque with 1,000 colored columns, Plaza Tiberias Square, and the small Moorish building known as the Rambam Synagogue.
Overnight in Cordoba.
Day 6, Friday - Gibraltar
Drive through Costa del Sol to Gibraltar.
Upon arrival enjoy a tour of its chief attraction- The Rock. Around 600 jews live in Gibraltar. Sephardic Jews coming from Italy, North Africa and later from England settled here soon after the British occupation in 1704. Included in the tour will be the famous St. Miguel Caves and a viewing of the hundreds of apes who roam the ape’s den.
Evening services will be followed by Shabbat dinner.

Day 7, Shabbat - Gibraltar
Morning services at the synagogue.
After lunch enjoy a walking tour of the area.
Day 8, Sunday - Seville
Depart Gibraltar for Seville.
Here you will visit the Arabian Alcazar and its gardens. You will visit the Plaza Espana, Pilatus House, and the Old Santa Cruz Quarter, formerly the Jewish Quarter.
Overnight in Seville.
Day 9, Monday - Toledo
Depart today for Toledo, capital of medieval Spanish Jewry.
Overnight in Toledo.
Day 10, Tuesday - Toledo, Madrid
Today’s visits will include the Jewish Quarter and its ancient synagogues, El Greco’s house, formerly the home of Shmuel Halevi.
Drive to Madrid for a sightseeing tour of the Plaza Mayor, Puerto Del Sol, and Plaza Espana. Visit the 18th century Royal Palace, the Beth Jacob Synagogue, and the Jewish Community Center.
Overnight in Madrid for the next two nights.
Day 11, Wednesday - Segovia, Madrid
A drive today will bring us to Segovia for a walking tour of the city, visiting the sites of the medieval Jewish Quarters: Calle de la Juderia Vieja, and Calle de la Juderia Nueva. View the largest Roman aquaduct in the world and the Alcazar. Visit the Escorial Palace, founded by Philip II in the 16th century, before returning to Madrid for a visit to the Prado Museum.
Day 12, Thursday - Madrid, New York
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
