Day 1, Monday - New York
Leave New York for Beijing. |
Day 2, Tuesday - Beijing
Evening arrival to Beijing, China’s vast and awesome capital. Meet your tour escort and transfer to your hotel.
Overnight in Beijing for the next 5 nights. |
Day 3, Wednesday - Beijing
Today see the enormity of Beijing. Start with a visit to Tiananmen Square. At 100 acres it’s the largest public square in the world. Enter the vast walled Forbidden City. This palace complex with its Courtyards, Halls and Gardens formed the center of power for Emperors of the Ming and Ching Dynasties. We’ll visit a traditional Chinese teahouse, where we will experience the Chinese tea tradition. |
Day 4, Thursday - Beijing
An exciting day at Badaling to climb and admire the Great Wall of China, (with it’s 6,000 mile length) and to walk the ramparts of this ancient wonder. Next we’ll visit the Ming Tombs of 13 emperors. With their marble underground vaults, giant gates and avenues lined with sculptured animals.
In the evening enjoy a traditional Peking opera show. |
Day 5, Friday - Beijing
Visit the Temple of Heaven a 15th century masterpiece. A drive to the Summer Palace, the residence for the imperial families. We’ll ride a dragon boat on the Kunming Lake.

Day 6, Shabbat - Beijing
Following Shabbat services and lunch, enjoy a walking tour of the area. |
Day 7, Sunday - Xian
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Xian.
Upon arrival we’ll have a sightseeing tour of the city, which was one of China’s ancient capitals and the center of the Silk Road trade in China. Walk through Xian’s town square and view the historic Drum and Bell Tower. |
Day 8, Monday - Xian
Our tour will start with a visit to one of the highlights of our tour. The magnificent life size Terra Cotta Stone Warriors and Horses guarding the tomb of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang. We’ll admire the artistry at the Chinese furniture exhibition center. We’ll visit the Big Goose Pagoda before returning to the hotel. |
Day 9, Tuesday - Shanghai
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Shanghai.
China’s most cosmopolitan city. Visit the lovely Yu Yuan Gardens. See the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Hall. The old Jewish Ghetto and the Ohel Moshe Synagogue. We’ll see the memorial to Stateless Refugees of the Holocaust.

Day 10, Wednesday - Shanghai
Visit the famous Bund Waterfront, (lined with the former trading houses of European companies) the Jade Buddha Temple, and the Children’s Place. Take a stroll through the bazaar with it’s many specialty shops.
In the evening enjoy the world famous acrobatic show. |
Day 11, Thursday - Suzhou
Travel to Suzhou,
known for it’s classic Chinese Gardens, and it’s silk industry. Visit one of Suzhou’s largest and most distinctive gardens, Lingering Garden. Take a boat ride along the Grand Canal. Visit a silk factory and climb Tiger Hill Park for a view of one of Suzhou’s most beautiful parks and ancient pagodas.
At the end of the day we return to Shanghai. |
Day 12, Friday - Shanghai
Morning visit to the world famous Shanghai Museum with an overview of China’s history and arts.
Afternoon free to explore the city on your own.
Evening services followed by Shabbat dinner. |
Day 13, Shabbat - Shanghai
Following Shabbat services and lunch enjoy a walking tour of the area. |
Day 14, Sunday - Guilin
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Guilin,
set among distinctive limestone hills in a lush subtropical landscape. Visit the Reed Flute Cave, a vast underground cavern full of rock formations, and Fubo Hill one of the hills in Guilin giving you a panoramic view of the city. Overnight in Guilin for the next 2 nights. |
Day 15, Monday - Guilin
Cruise on the Li River to Yangshua,
passing through some of China’s finest and best-known scenery of limestone hills and rice paddy fields.
Return to Guilin. |
Day 16, Tuesday - Hong Kong
We’ll take a ride to the top of Victoria Park.
From there we’ll have a beautiful panoramic view of the city.
Overnight in Hong Kong for 2 nights. |
Day 17, Wednesday - Hong Kong
During our morning visit to Ohel Leah Synagogue we’ll learn about the history of the Jews in Hong Kong. We’ll then see Aberdeen’s floating homes, then continue to Deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay.
Afternoon at leisure for independent exploring or shopping. |
Day 18, Thursday - Hong Kong, New York
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. |
