Itinerary
Day 1, Tuesday -
New York
Evening departure from New york to Barcelona
Day 2, Wednesday - Barcelona
Arrive in Barcelona where you will meet your tour leader.
Drive through and see the city. City Hall, Las Ramblas, Gaudi Buildings and on to the top of Tibidabo with a splendid view of the city.
Day 3, Thursday - Girona and Figueras
Girona, Archeological Museum, The Jewish Museum & The Dali Museum.
Drive along the highway to the historical city of Girona; Girona was an important medieval center of Kabalah study and the city has restored the old Jewish Quarter. Visit the old Banos Arabes, the Archeological Museum and the Jewish Museum. Continue to Figueras to the Dali Museum.
Day 4, Friday - Barcelona
Historic Jewish Quarter & The Picasso Museum.
The Jewish community which was so prosperous and active in the 13th century built as many as five synagogues, though
only one remains standing, the Main Synagogue. A walking tour of the "Gothic Barri " and the historic Jewish Quarter the "call". then a visit to the restored medieval synagogue. The picasso museum is the next stop where you can admire some of his most famous works of the "blue and pink" periods. Evening services followed by shabbat dinner.
Day 5, Shabbat - Barcelona
Following Shabbat Services and lunch enjoy a walking tour in the area.
Day 6, Sunday - Barcelona Montjuic Hilltop & Guell Park.
The morning tour will take us to Montjuic hilltop, which affords a magnificent panoramic view. Visit the Spanish Village that contains the most authentic exhibition of regional architecture in Spain.
Our afternoon tour includes a visit to Guell Park, designed by Antoni Gaudi, we will then make a stop at one of his most famous uncompleted works; the "Sagrada Familia".
Day 7, Monday - Costa Brava, & Besalu
Departure through the Mataro Motorway along the coast of La Maresma, wonderful beaches and beautiful villages.
We will go sailing by boat (weather permitting) towards lloret de Mar and continue to Tossa del Mar, where you will see the ancient quarter; with its ramparts and towers. On the way back to Barcelona, we will stop in Besalu to see the site of an old mikvah.
Day 8, Tuesday - Barcelona, New York
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
